The Liberal Arts Council is working to create a digital resources "ebook" that will promote services and information to first-year students in First Year Seminar courses. The purpose of the ebook is to create a digital resource guide that serves as a way to connect first-year students to pertinent information, services, offices, and support. The ebook will be interactive (featuring hyperlinks and pictures) and students will be asked to utilize the ebook through various assignments within their FYS courses. The ebook will be housed in D2L for sections of FYS and students will have access to the publication via the Advising Center's website as well.
We invite any office who would like to share information or services with first-year students to submit content for a page in the FYS ebook. The goal of each page of the ebook is to serve as a landing page that can connect students via links to other websites and more in-depth information. There is no cost to submit content for a page. All interested in creating a page can include: a picture (300 pixels per square inch requirement) and text (150 words maximum overview of the office, what you offer, how to locate you, and any relevant hyperlinks). You do not need to design the page (the pages will be designed by the Print Shop). Submit your picture and text to Erin Weston at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 30, 2017 to ensure that your page is included in the Fall 2017 publication.
