Georgia College Public Safety is giving notice of safety advice relating to the following reported incident.
On January 15, 2020, at approximately 6 p.m., GC Public Safety received a report that a vehicle had been broken into and the ignition switch had been damaged while parked in front of the West Campus Village 4 building sometime between the evening of January 14 and when the incident was reported. GC Public Safety is investigating the incident.
The safety of the campus community is a top priority for Georgia College. Whether you are living on campus, in neighboring housing or here to work, you are urged to pay special attention to safety and security precautions.
While all crimes cannot be prevented, here are some suggestions everyone may want to consider:
· Report suspicious persons or vehicles to the police.
· Lock your vehicle.
· Store valuables out of sight.
· Park in well-lit areas with high pedestrian traffic when possible.
If you ever find yourself in a potentially unsafe situation, you may always request an escort from GC Public Safety.
