A GC Biology student was selected for an NSF REU

Billie Mills, a sophomore Biology major was selected to participate in the NSF REU program in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology at the University of Chicago this summer. Billie was also accepted to Clemson University REU program and made to the finalist list for Cornell REU program, but she decided to pursue UChicago program.  Billie will receive a $5,250 stipend, housing, $750 food allowance, plus travel expenses to and from the University.  She is assigned to work in the laboratory of Dr. Ilaria Rebay who studies signal transduction in Drosophila development.
