UPDATE: Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m.
Dear Campus Community:
Georgia College will reopen and resume normal operations tomorrow, September 14. We urge all supervisors and faculty members at Georgia College to be mindful of the individual circumstances that students, employees or faculty members may have upon their return to campus.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to campus tomorrow.
UPDATE: Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m.
Power has been restored to all residence halls and most buildings on campus. Our grounds crew and maintenance personnel are working to clear debris across campus and remove any hazardous conditions. Many parts of Georgia continue to experience power outages, scattered debris and poor road conditions making travel restrictive. For the safety of our students, faculty and staff, Georgia College will also be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 13.
During this closure and with the exception of essential personnel, students, faculty and staff should not be on campus or attempt to enter campus buildings. Only residence halls will remain open. We expect the campus will reopen on Thursday, Sept. 14 and resume normal operations.
For our students in residence halls, weekend dining services have resumed and transportation from West Campus to The Max will begin 30 minutes before and continue through 30 minutes after each meal period.
UPDATE: Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 8:20 a.m.
Power has been restored to most buildings on campus and crews continue to work to restore all power. Weekend dining hours (Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) have resumed. Shuttle services will now continue between the West Campus and The Max thirty minutes before and after each meal period.
Campus is closed Tuesday. Information regarding the status of operations for Wednesday will be posted to Front Page.
UPDATE: Monday, Sept. 11 at 6:40 p.m.
Please note there is a mandatory curfew for Milledgeville and Baldwin County between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday. For your own safety, the Georgia College campus will remain closed. Students, faculty and staff should not be on campus or attempt to enter campus buildings—with the exception of residence halls which remain open. Only essential personnel should be on campus until the university reopens.
UPDATE: Monday, Sept. 11 at 8:55 a.m.
Due to safety concerns, all GC bus transportation and dining services will be suspended until further notice.
Check back for updates throughout the day today.
UPDATE: Sunday, Sept.10 at 7 p.m.
All students remaining in GC housing Sunday and Monday are encouraged to visit The Max before it closes Sunday. The hours will be extended to 7:30 p.m for dinner. Students will be permitted to take out additional food if needed for Monday, as we do not anticipate opening The Max until weather conditions are safe to do so.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.
Out of an abundance of caution and due to weather and road conditions as a result of Hurricane Irma, Georgia College will be closed on Saturday, September 9 and will open to resume normal operations on Wednesday, September 13. All classes (including Macon, Warner Robins and online classes), activities and normal business operations will cease during the closure and only essential personnel will report to work.
The safety of our students, faculty and staff remains our top priority. We encourage everyone to tune into local TV and radio stations for updates on weather and road conditions and be mindful of extended travel times due to significant road congestion across many parts of Georgia.
For those students who will remain on campus, please note that limited services will be available for dining and transportation needs. Weekend dining hours (Brunch from 11 am to 2 pm and Dinner from 5 pm to 7 pm) will remain in effect throughout the closure. Shuttle services will be provided between the West Campus and The Max thirty minutes before and after each meal period.
Please monitor Front Page on our website for any updates to this emerging situation.
