According to the National Weather Service, Hurricane Florence impacts are expected to be minimal in our area. Although we will continue to monitor the situation, at this time we anticipate all Georgia College operations to proceed on the normal schedule unless previously advertised. As you may be aware, Governor Deal has issued a State of Emergency for all counties in Georgia relating to Hurricane Florence. Hurricane Florence has the potential to impact our area. Although the level of impact is still uncertain, there is a possibility for dangerous conditions. Georgia College officials have been and will continue to monitor this evolving situation. We also encourage you to tune into local TV and radio stations for updates in your local area.
At this time we want to stress the importance of personal preparedness and that NOW is the time to prepare. Whether you live on or off campus, you should take actions to prepare and ensure your safety for the coming days. Lastly, please make certain your GC Alert information is accurate and your preferred methods of receipt are selected by logging into your Paws account and selecting the “personal info” tab.
