The National Scholarships Office is happy to announce that we are kicking off this year’s search for our Newman Civic Fellows Nominee. We’d love for you to nominate any students who you think might make great candidates for this award.
The Newman Civic Fellowship is a Campus Compact Awards Program that recognizes and supports community-committed students who have demonstrated an investment in finding solutions for challenges facing communities throughout the country. For our nominee, we are seeking a student who:
Engages in collaborative action with others from campus or from surrounding communities in order to create long-term social change
Takes action in addressing issues of inequality and political polarization
Demonstrates the motivation and potential for effective long-term civic engagement
Nominees can be either an undergraduate or graduate student, though preference is given to undergraduates. Nominees must have at least one year left on campus after this year.
Nominees should be emailed to Anna Whiteside (firstname.lastname@example.org). Following this, we will reach out to nominated students who will then apply for our campus process. Our campus application is due on December 10.
