Office of Inclusive Excellence/Center for Teaching and Learning Workshop on Microaggressions

Tuesday, February 20, in the Library, room 376 from 12 p.m. until 12:50 p.m., Jennifer Birch, Office of Inclusive Excellence, will facilitate a workshop on recognizing and responding to microaggressions. Dr. Derald Sue defines microaggressions as "the everyday verbal, nonverbal and environmental slights, snubs or insults, whether intentional or unintentional, which communicate hostile, derogatory or negative messages to target persons based solely upon their marginalized group membership." In this workshop, you will learn how microaggressions negatively impact student learning and worker morale and how to support those who experience them. The workshop will be recorded for later viewing. Please register here
