Twelve students in ARTS 1201 (Three-Dimensional Design) will display their reclaimed pallet wood sculptures on Front Campus from 9am, Monday, December 10 through noon, Friday, December 14th.
“Pallet wood is popular on many maker sites and home building shows and my students expressed an interest in exploring this raw material. Anthony, Jennifer and Vino at Central Receiving have always been supportive of my students and they have kindly supplied them with the pallets necessary to make the work for this exhibition.” said Ernesto Gomez, Lecturer of Art.
These 12 original designs have been constructed over the last three weeks in the Department of Art wood shop in the Miller Annex building and will serve as the final exam for these students. “This is an extraordinary group of student-artists and my practicum student Laine Gay has been instrumental in assisting them in realizing their design(s) this semester”, said Gomez.
The student exhibitors are: Jessi Deyo, Mary Doubelry, Courtney Frank, Kelvin Gonzalez, Jessica Hendrix, Jessica Hodgdon, Megan Morley, Sarah Skinner, Kelsey Thomas, Thuy West, Sierra White, and Alix Williams
