Read for the Record

Communities in Schools partnered with the Athletic Department to recruit student-athlete volunteers for the annual Read for the Record event on November 7th at our local Baldwin County Lakeview Primary School. This event is an annual event meant to encourage our youth to engage in reading.

Each year, Jumpstart selects a campaign book that fosters language and social-emotional development, honors the diversity in our world, has a strong narrative, and appeals to young children. That book is read across the country and around the world by adults and young readers on Read for the Record day.

We were able to host 40 Georgia College Athletes from Softball, Golf, Tennis, Cross-Country, Volleyball, Baseball, Women's Basketball, and Men's Basketball. Each athlete read the chosen book for the 2019 year to each and every classroom at Lakeview Primary school.

Go Bobcats!!!!
