Would your office or department like the opportunity to meet with our new students, share information about your office/department and interact with them by hosting a carnival style game at your table? You have an opportunity to do so at the Get Connected Block Party during Weekend of Welcome! Please complete the registration form to sign up for a table and to indicate which carnival style game you will provide to add to the fun of the block party.
We are asking each table to host some sort of interactive activity or game that students can play as they talk to you and learn about your office/department. The games can be very simple, but we want students to have the opportunity to have a chance to win tickets at your table. We will provide the tickets and the prizes for students that have earned tickets. You are also welcome to provide your own prizes (or swag) for students that come talk to you/ask questions, etc.
The block party will also include the following features: zip line, putt putt golf, foam party, food and live band. The event will be held from 8:00-11:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2019, on Greene Street. Check-in will start at 7:00 p.m., and we are asking everyone to be ready an in place by 8:00 p.m. to start the event.
Please be aware that no electricity will be provided. Participants are encouraged to only bring electronics that are powered by batteries or provide their own generator if bringing larger items.
Bobcat Marketplace is scheduled from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Campus Life will provide each organization with a table that will be labeled for your organization. We do not provide tablecloths. You are encouraged to bring your own table coverings and decor to highlight your organization. If your organization would like to bring a tent for shade, it must be a self-standing tent (can't use stakes) that does not exceed 10' x 10'.
