Samoya Pentecost and Martin Alcantar
Two senior chemistry majors – Samoya Pentecost and Martin Alcantar – spent four years of college volunteering for "STEMing Into the Community," a program that brings science to disadvantaged youth throughout Georgia and parts of Florida and Alabama. Pentecost and Alcantar use their own backgrounds to identify with African-American and Latino youth. They love performing cool chemistry tricks and seeing children's faces light up. Both say the experience has been a highlight of their years at Georgia College.
