She took part in the July 18 orientation at Georgia College, where she plans on majoring in mass communication.

“I am very charismatic and energetic. I love making people laugh, and my goal is to be the next Ryan Seacrest,” said Fitzgerald.

Coincidentally enough, she interned with the entertainment icon’s organization the Ryan Seacrest Foundation where she had the opportunity to work on radio shows and with celebrities.

“I’m really interested in learning more about the television and radio industry, as well as the behind-the-scenes work,” said Fitzgerald.

The location of Georgia College was one reason she chose to attend, but not far behind were the degree offerings, technology available and residence halls on campus.

“We are happy she picked an in-state school to attend,” said Cynthia Peek, her mom. “There seems to be more individual attention at Georgia College for the students. At many other places, you may not get the one-on-one attention you get here.”

From Dunwoody, Ga., Fitzgerald was always very active in high school from cheerleading to leadership opportunities.

“I’m very excited to get involved on campus too,” she said. “I plan to see what clubs and organizations I’m interested in and potentially getting involved with intramurals while at college.”
