The acclaimed Urban Bush Women Dance Company from New York will present a free concert entitled "Hair and Other Stories" in Russell Auditorium Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. The dance was originally presented at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The presentation is sponsored by the Offices of the President, Provost and Dean, GC Theatre and Dance, Art, Music, Cultural Center, Office of Inclusive Excellence, Allied Arts and Arts Unlimited. A talk back with the dancers will follow.
The company Urban Bush Women are dedicated to "projecting the voices of the under-heard and people of color; bringing attention to and addressing issues of equity in the dance field and throughout the United States; and by providing platforms and serving as a conduit for culturally and socially relevant experimental art makers" and will provide the campus with a transformative cultural experience.
