Location:
Peeler Complex Softball Field

For the third-straight year, the Georgia College Department of Athletics is set to host the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament on GC's West Campus Peeler Complex softball field.

The Bobcats (30-18) start their journey to the 2017 PBC Tournament title as the No. 5-seed, taking on No. 4-seed Young Harris College (41-11) Friday, April 21 at 4 p.m. It will be the third of four games Friday.

No. 2-seed Armstrong State University and No. 7-seed University of Montevallo get the single elimination tournament going at 11 a.m., followed by No. 3-seed Flagler College and No. 6-seed Columbus State University at 1:30 p.m. No. 1-seed University of North Georgia and No. 8-seed Francis Marion University do battle at 6:30 p.m.

The 24th Annual Softball Championship in the PBC will determine the automatic bid to the NCAA Southeast Regional beginning May 12.

The Bobcats are 30-18 at the end of the regular season, a year highlighted by a sweep of then-No. 2 North Georgia earlier this season. The Bobcats are 15-7 at home this year, and 7-7 against the seven other teams in this year's tournament.

Senior Faith Flanders (Dublin) leads the offensive charge, hitting .389 with five home runs, 48 RBIs and 19 runs scored. One of the top pitching options for the Bobcats is sophomore righty Kayla Price (Indian Land, South Carolina) at 18-5 with a 3.40 ERA and 146 innings pitched. The Bobcats are fourth in the PBC in runs scored, batting average and on-base percentage.
