Reflections is a survey of fine art prints made by visiting scholars and artists to Georgia College from 2002-2018. All of the works were created through collaborations with guests, students, and Art faculty in our department’s facilities. Those represented in this exhibition are a mix of trained and outlier artists, writers, scientists, and educators. Each print in the exhibition was selected for its dimensionality—visually intriguing on the surface with personal stories that forge a connection between viewer and maker. These individual vignettes provide the audience with the inspiration for each work and frequently challenge the audience to view the world differently. Beginning in a 600 square foot space at Mayfair Hall, the Printmaking Studio has evolved into the current Gas Light Press, four times larger and housed on the edge of campus in Miller Annex. All of the works included in Reflections were created at Gas Light Press. The Department of Art greatly thanks the College of Arts and Sciences for continuous support of this project in benefit of our students and community.
