Caroline Long, '17, works for the university's foundation. In addition to mission work, she recently was a contestant on the game show Family Feud.
This fall, Georgia College hosted a National Endowment for the Arts 'Big Read' event. The purpose of the event is to bring communities together around a common book.
Dr. Shawn Eric Brooks has been selected as Georgia College’s incoming vice president for student affairs. Brooks will join Georgia College May 1, 2018. He will assume his new role as vice president for student affairs at Georgia College after the retirement of our current Vice President Dr. Bruce Harshbarger on June 30, 2018.
The Women’s Center’s services are expanding with the help of a grant from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council of Georgia. The nearly $100,000 funds a new, full-time victim services coordinator for campus.
Dr. Eric G. Tenbus will join Georgia College as dean of the College of Arts & Sciences effective June 1, 2018. Tenbus is a professor of history in his seventh year as department chair in the Department of History, Sociology, Anthropology and Cross-Disciplinary Studies at the University of Central Missouri. He has taught at the university since 2001.

After a nationwide search, Georgia College has named Dr. Joseph M. Peters the new dean of the College of Education.
