CTL to Provide Funding to Create Faculty Learning Communities

CTL to Provide Funding to Create Faculty Learning Communities

Many instructors have expressed frustration about teaching during these difficult times.  Others have shared some ideas of what has worked in their classroom. Let’s find a way to share our experiences and learn from each other.  The CTL is proud to offer up to $500 in funding to support faculty learning communities.

Faculty Learning Communities are small groups of faculty and staff who meet several times during the academic year to discuss, and build community around a particular issue or approach to teaching and student learning at Georgia College. The Faculty Learning Communities meet approximately every three weeks, either virtually or face-to-face. For the purpose of this grants' program, Faculty Learning Communities consist of 5-8 members from more than one academic discipline, and preferably from more than one department. Recipients will be provided funding for the purchase of books, supplies, professional development, guest speakers, etc.

We’ll be glad to help get you set up and running.  If you bring the idea, we can help recruit participants. If you are interested, please visit the Faculty Learning Communities webpage and contact ctl@gcsu.edu or (478) 445-2520 for more information.

Proposals can be sent to Jim Berger at jim.berger@gcsu.edu.
