Learning Center Receives International Recertification and is Providing Virtual Tutoring for all Programs

The Learning Center at Georgia College is thrilled to announce we received the highest level of re-certification from the College Reading & Learning Association’s (CRLA) International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC).  This prestigious certification ensures that our Learning Center’s tutors are well trained and prepared and speaks to the high standards it strives to maintain.

CRLA certification consists of an extensive application and review process required for centers to receive any of the 3 levels of the certification.  Georgia College’s Learning Center has been consistently certified at Level Three since 2011 and works diligently to maintain the high standards of the association. This year alone, the Learning Center has certified almost 80 peer tutors through CRLA certification.

In addition to certified peer tutoring program, the Learning Center also houses the campus’ Supplemental Instruction program (accredited through UMKC), the Math Lab, the Peer Assisted Study Sessions program, and our newest service (supported with USG’s STEM IV grant), After Hours Tutoring.  For updates about all the happenings in the LC, follow us on Instagram @gc_learningcenter.

We are also happy to announce the Learning Center’s various academic support services transitioned rather smoothly to online platforms on March 30th; please see more information and the simple instructions found on our website: https://www.gcsu.edu/learningcenter
