GC Volleyball Nabs Second-Straight AVCA Team Academic Award

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released the 2019-20 Team Academic Award recipients recently, with Georgia College Volleyball joining the members of the list.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale. The Bobcats owned a 3.49 GPA for the school year.

"The AVCA Team Academic Award shows just how dedicated this team is as a whole," said GC Volleyball head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "I'm so proud of them for being self-motivated and working so hard in the classroom. Their work ethic carries over to the court and it makes coaching them so much fun."

The Bobcats have picked up the honor in five of their seven seasons and each of the last two campaigns.
