December Virtual Commencement Ceremony

December Virtual Commencement Ceremony

On December 12, Georgia College will host a virtual commencement ceremony for the 325 members of the December Class of 2020.  This ceremony will be broadcast as a YouTube Premiere event at  Graduates, faculty, staff, family, and friends will be able to interact online during the ceremony.  The ceremony will also be available to view and download after the event.

The ceremony will include customary speakers and a conferral of degrees. Dr. Stephanie McClure, this year's Georgia College Excellence in Teaching award recipient, will be the keynote speaker.  All graduating students will be recognized individually.  Graduation candidates have each been given the opportunity to upload a picture, a comment, and a short video that will be played during the ceremony; these items must be submitted by Tuesday, December 1.  Examples of previous submissions are available online to help students decide what to include.

When public health conditions allow, we will announce dates for traditional ceremonies for the May, August, and December 2020 graduates.  Graduating students who cannot attend their rescheduled ceremony may also choose to participate in a later ceremony at the end of a future fall or spring semester.  Students from these classes should complete a short survey with their contact information so we can inform them when dates are set.

Additional information on the virtual ceremony is available on the Registrar’s Office graduation and commencement webpage.
