Faculty Recital:  Phoenix Rising - Andrew Allen, saxophone

Monday, Oct. 25 Come enjoy Dr. Andrew J. Allen’s faculty recital, Phoenix Rising, at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall. He’ll be accompanied by pianist Dr. Lev Ryabinin. Allen is a saxophonist and an assistant professor in the Department of Music at Georgia College. He chose the title, Phoenix Rising, in the hopes we’ll all soon rise from the proverbial ashes of the pandemic. The program will feature Georgia College composer Dr. David H. Johnson’s Parlor Games, A Single Voice: Solitary,  Unified by Anthony R. Green; Phoenix Rising by Stacy Garrop; and Fazil Say’s Suite for alto saxophone and piano. This recital will also be livestreamed at facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. A $5 donation is encouraged. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GC Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc. For more information, please email music@gcsu.edu or call 478-445-8289.
