HIGH DEMAND ALERT: Electricity Usage for Thursday, January 18
Georgia Power has once again issued an Alert for Thursday, Jan. 18, as extreme cold temperatures and high demand persists across the regional power grid. Peak-hour pricing will remain elevated during the morning hours of 7 a.m. through 12 p.m.
The campus community is asked to shut down non-essential lighting and unplug non-essential equipment especially during the peak period Thursday morning. If you have access to windows, please use natural light. Turn lights off when you leave your office or classroom. Please avoid using portable heaters and shut off unnecessary appliances.
GCSU is committed to both environmental and financial responsibility. We hope students, faculty and staff will work together to reduce energy consumption at this critical time. The Office of Sustainability and Facilities Management once again thanks everyone for your cooperation and understanding!
