Women's Giving Circle Grant Request Application

The Women's Giving Circle (WGC) is requesting proposals for areas and projects on campus in need of funding.

The WGC seeks to amplify the power of collaborative philanthropic efforts to help support areas of need across campus while simultaneously building community and transforming the lives of students.Women's Giving Circle Funding Priorities- Support and promote scholarship, research, service, education, and advocacy- Support and promote women's leadership in all its forms- Enrich the quality of life of women and children- Encourage outreach and engagement in the greater Milledgeville/Baldwin County areaThe Women's Giving Circle is growing in its capacity; currently we are able to award grants from $300-$1,000. All proposed grants will be reviewed and voted on by our members.

Georgia Undergraduate Research Collective Conference MOVE TO ONLINE

Due to ongoing concerns with the pandemic and flu season, the GURC Conference has been moved to an online presence . Of course, the GURC wanted an in-person conference, but the GURC leadership felt the move to online was the best decision for this year. The entire conference will take place on Friday, November 5, 2021. The GURC is working on creating a detailed schedule and getting all of the other details in place. Details will be communicated to the students who submitted in the near future.

Fall Textbook Adoptions - Due 11/22/2021

The spring semester is quickly approaching.  Partner with Barnes & Noble at Georgia College to make sure your students have their course materials for the upcoming semester.  Instructors can input course materials in the new Adoptions and Insights Portal (AIP).

Instructions: 

  1. Go to AIP : https://aip.bncollege.com/app/  
  2. Click "Select Institution" and select Georgia College.  Next, click "Proceed".  *Do not sign in underneath "Login with your AIP credentials".  
  3. Insert your unify credentials to log in and input adoptions.
All textbook adoptions should be completed by 11/22/2021.

Hispanic Heritage Month Movie Night: In The Heights 

The Cultural Center is hosting a movie night tonight as part of our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. We will be showing the film "In The Heights, " a film version of the Broadway musical in which Usnavi, a sympathetic New York bodega owner, saves every penny every day as he imagines and sings about a better life. Directed by Jon M. Chu. Written by Quiara Alegría Hudes and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Starring: Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace and so many others!

Deadline TODAY: $200 Well-Being Credit for Covid-19 Vaccine, for payment in November 2021

Employees and spouses enrolled in a USG healthcare plan now have the opportunity to earn a $200 well-being credit per individual for participating with USG Well-being. In order to receive payout for the credit on your final paycheck in November, this MUST be completed no later than September 30, 2021.

Already enrolled in USG Well-being? Getting the COVID-19 vaccine will make you eligible to earn the $200 well-being credit through December 31, 2021. If you have already received the $10 well-being credit for the COVID-19 vaccine in the 2021 credit year, you will receive the additional credit on your rewards page, bringing you to $200 before the end of September. Vaccines received after September 30, 2021 and before December 31, 2021 will count towards the 2022 credit year, and will be paid out on the employee's final paycheck in April 2022. REMINDER: Cleaning out your closets? Donate to the Pop Up Thrift Shop!

As the seasons change, so do our wardrobes. While cleaning out your closets to make room for your fall attire, consider donating any unwanted clothing to the Pop Up Thrift Shop. Collection boxes can be found on the second floor of A&S, first floor of the Ina Dillard Russell Library, Career Center (first floor Lanier Hall), and the MAX lobby (second floor of MSU). You can stop by the Pop Up Thrift Shop on Front Campus on Oct. 5 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. All clothing will be secondhand and FREE. We hope to see you there!

REMINDER: Second Dinner With Twelve Strangers--October 21st

The Office of Inclusive Excellence is pleased to announce “Dinner With 12 Strangers”, a new “building community” event at Georgia College. During the fall semester, there will be three Dinners that will include a delicious meal, fun ice-breakers, personal introductions, and an engaging conversation about how we can make Georgia College a more welcoming community for all.  Twelve selected individuals from all areas of campus will be invited to be one of the twelve strangers who meet for dinner.  The Dinners will be hosted from 5:30pm to 7:15pm on three nights during the fall semester: September 16th (Atkinson Front Porch), October 21st (Cultural Center) and November 18th (Mayfair Hall). REMINDER: Key Changes: 2022 USG Healthcare Plans 

Below are the key changes for the 2022 USG Healthcare Plans for active employees:.

  • Premiums: The Board approved a slight increases to premiums for all USG Healthcare Plans between $1 - $21 per month (.6% - 4%) depending on the plan and coverage tier in which you are enrolled.
  • Pharmacy Coverage: The Board approved the following changes to the pharmacy coverage -
    • Adding a Specialty Pharmacy tier for the Comprehensive Care and BlueChoice HMO plans with co-insurance and maximums by drug tier.
    • Adding a 30-day supply limit to specialty medications for the Comprehensive Care, Consumer Choice HSA, and BlueChoice HMO plans.
    • Adding 60-day and 90-day supply copays for the Comprehensive Care and BlueChoice HMO plans at 2x or 3x the cost of the 30-day supply.
    • Increasing the Kaiser HMO plan mail order co-pay from 2 copays per 90-day supply to 3 co-pays per 90-day supply.
