Students find their fit with clubs at Bobcat Marketplace

Director of Community Engagement Presentation and Open Forum

Georgia College faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the presentation and open forum for the three candidates for the Director of Community Engagement on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, and Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in the Mayfair Hall Presentation Room.

Each candidate will speak for 30-40 minutes on the following topic: 

"What is your strategic vision for how the GIVE Center will serve GC students, the local community, and higher education at large?"

Following the presentation, each candidate will respond to questions from the university community.

Georgia College Softball to Host Two Fall Prospect Clinics

Georgia College's Softball program will hold two winter prospect clinics set for Aug. 28 and Nov. 6. Bobcat Softball invites any high school freshman to senior interested in playing softball at the collegiate level to attend.

Participants are taught the fundamentals and advanced skills of softball in hopes of improving the player's mental and physical understanding of the game. The attendees are also given advice concerning the college application process as well as how to pursue a career in collegiate-level athletics.

These enjoyable yet challenging days run from 1-6 p.m. and are limited to the first 60 prospects who complete their registration form and turn in payment. Let the Bobcats help you prepare for your future by ...

Request MSCM Practicum Student for fall semester 2022

Does your department or office need assistance with communication, promotion or publicity?  A Mass Comm practicum student could help. Students in MSCM 2930 can assist on-campus departments and offices with a range of communication projects including: graphic design, short-form videography, digital media management including website content and social media channels, copy writing for blogs and press releases and much more.  (Please remember that communication products must be approved by University Communications prior to distribution.)

Mass Comm practicum students complete 50 hours for a 1.0 course credit. All practicums must be completed on campus and supervised by a Georgia College faculty or staff member. Spring practicum requests are due by COB Wednesday August 10 2022.

REMINDER: Black Farmers’ Network Launches Rural Community Storytelling Project

A new rural storytelling project through USDA grant project Black Farmers’ Network (BFN) launches to capture and document those rarely known or documented local histories, starting in the Georgia Black Belt Region. Called the "Georgia Black Belt Gems" project, the stories or "gems" collected from the network's digital submission form (blackfarmersnetwork.com/GeorgiaBlackBeltGems) archive and offer a deeper discussion about the people, places and things that have made Small Town USA special and is critical to sustaining rural community narratives.
