We are receiving reports of Microsoft Office products running on Mac OS closing unexpectedly. The products affected seem to include Word, Outlook, and Teams, although other products might also be affected. Our team is currently investigating the problem and searching for a solution. As a workaround, the web versions of these products are not affected. If you are concerned about the products crashing, please use the Office 365 products until a permanent solution is available.

REMINDER: Fulbright Scholarship Interviewers Needed

The National Scholarships Office is looking for faculty and staff members with experience in international education who are interested in interviewing students and reviewing applications for the Fulbright Scholarship. This is a great, low commitment way to help our students compete on the national stage.

Panelists typically review three applications, offering feedback and participating in short interviews with students. This year's interviews will take place between on the weeks of September 6 and September 12. To accommodate our alumni applicants, we will be holding both in person and virtual interviews.

If you are interested, please reach out to Anna Whiteside (anna.whiteside@gcsu.edu)

REMINDER: Learning Center offering Excel Bootcamps

Do your students struggle with assignments or tasks requiring the use of Excel? If so, The Learning Center is ready to help your students learn the basics of Excel by offering Excel Bootcamps for our third full semester! If you are not aware of this newer service, our Faculty Advisory Council discovered a significant gap of students’ knowledge of basic Excel functions and use--across disciplines--and our faculty were taking much needed time away from lab/lecture just to cover the basics of Excel. Please see the pdf  ‘Short History’ in the link below.

Very briefly, if you have an assignment that requires a bit of savvy with Excel, let us help you by covering the basics (please see Bootcamp Agenda and Excel Bootcamp pdfs attached). If you don’t have an assignment requiring Excel but some or most of your students NEED it for research or building graphs or a regression line, this may be of help to you as well. Our goal and motivation is to help you by covering the basics and giving students some practice inside of a workbook. All you have to do is...
