Department of Communication Welcomes New ChairAfter a national search process, the College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce Dr. Michael Dreher as the new chair of the Department of Communication. Dr. Dreher comes to Georgia College from Bethel University in Arden Hills, Minnesota, where he was Professor of Communication Studies and Director of Forensics, a position in which he oversaw the intercollegiate speech and debate team. He previously served as department chair and graduate coordinator of the Master of Arts in Communication program.
“I’m excited to continue my career at a university that values the liberal arts as much as Georgia College does,” he explained about his impending move to Georgia. “I’ve taught at liberal arts colleges for my entire academic career, and I believe that the liberal arts are more important now than ever.”
Dreher’s teaching and research focuses on the intersections of rhetoric and a variety of different disciplines.
