READ MORE Young Scientists Academy SymposiumIn this six-week Young Scientists Academy (YSA) program, academically motivated rising seniors conduct research under the guidance of a Georgia College faculty member and undergraduate mentors. These YSA Internship students tackle an individual research project and acquire valuable technical and analytical skills, culminating in data analysis and a YSA poster symposium. In some cases, YSA interns will submit their work to national science conferences like the American Chemical Society’s National Conference.
Throughout the six weeks of the program, students participate in weekly workshops with the YSA Director who provides insight into the scientific process, research ethics, how to read a research paper, how to make a poster, and how to network in the science and engineering fields. READ MORE Final Request for 2021 Clery Crime Statistics from Campus Security AuthoritiesEach year, Georgia College releases an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report that includes a disclosure of crime statistics for the previous three years. The institution is working diligently to finalize our 2022 annual report, which will be released by the end of September. These statistics are also reported to the Department of Education.
Crime statistics are compiled from a variety of sources, including, reports from Public Safety, reports from local law enforcement agencies, Title IX reports, student conduct reports, and reports from Campus Security Authorities or CSAs. While our CSAs routinely provide us with reports throughout the year, please consider this a final request for any incident reports occurring within the 2021 calendar year (January 1 through December 31) that have yet to be reported to institutional authorities for ... Called the "Georgia Black Belt Gems" project, the stories or "gems" collected from the network's digital submission form (blackfarmersnetwork.com/GeorgiaBlackBeltGems) archive and offer a deeper discussion about the people, places and things that have made Small Town USA special and is critical to sustaining rural community narratives.
