Georgia College ranks third in state system for four-year graduation rate

Georgia College Leadership Programs to host distinguished international panel-- Peace and Stability in Europe: With or Without NATO?

On Wednesday, October 21st at 10 a.m., Georgia College Leadership Programs will host a panel on “Peace and Stability in Europe: With or Without NATO?” A distinguished panel of discussants, including the Hon. Darragh Paradiso, consul-general of the United States in Strasbourg, and Dr. Rüdiger Lentz, executive director of the Aspen Institute of Germany, will explore the current state of European security and defense policy.

The nonpartisan event will be hosted by Georgia College’s Office of Leadership Programs, in collaboration with the European Study Center and the Institut d’études politiques at the Université de Strasbourg, both in France.

Panelists will explore the current state of transatlantic relations, including debates over the future of a U.S.-led defensive alliance and the potential for an emerging multipolar international order.

REMINDER: Study Abroad Spotlight for International Week begins October 19

This year's International Week, which begins October 19, will focus on study abroad opportunities around the world. Each day will focus on a different region of the world. Visit our International Week Event page and follow us on Facebook or Instagram at GCSUstudyabroad to learn more. Students can join sessions online to learn how Georgia College study abroad scholarships and financial aid can help make their study abroad dream become a reality!  Sessions on study abroad programs, the Gilman, Boren, and the CLS Scholarships, as well as a session on Teaching English Abroad after graduation, will also be offered. Monday will spotlight Central & South America and the Caribbean, Tuesday on Asia and the Pacific , Wednesday on Africa, and Thursday will spotlight Europe.  Come and explore with us!

REMINDER: Children's Show "Lions in Illyria" Livestreams Oct. 20/21 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Theatre and Dance Department proudly presents the children's play "Lions in Illyria" by Robert Kauzlanric and directed by Julia Ann Willingham on Oct. 20 and 21 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are free at gcgivingvoice.com and you can livestream from that site.  This one hour play in fantastical animal masks will stream from the Campus Black Box Theatre. Based on the Shakespeare play " Twelfth Night" lioness Viola loses her brother in a storm at sea and she comes upon aardvarks, peacocks and other strange animals. The play will be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
