READ MORE Bobcat Men’s Basketball Cleans up in Postseason PBC AwardsThe Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its postseason awards in Men's Basketball Thursday, with Georgia College's Mark Gainous earning PBC Coach of the Year and Brandon Thomas (McDonough) taking his second Elite-16 Award. Jordan Thomas (Conyers) and Wesley Simpson (DeLand, Florida/Union Grove HS [Ga.]) also took All-PBC trophies.
"I am so happy for Mark and the holistic success he has built within our program," said Director of Athletics Wendell Staton. "There is no higher compliment than being recognized by your peers. Mark is the ultimate team player and exudes contagious positivity. I am thrilled for Mark and our outstanding student-athletes who made this recognition possible."

READ MORE Submit proposals for the 2022 Annual COPLAC MeetingThe 2022 Annual Meeting, hosted by Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, will be held in a HyFlex format 26-28 June. The theme explores Equity and the Power to Transform public liberal arts campuses.
Cross-campus teams representing both Student and Academic Affairs are invited to attend and contribute to conversations about actionable equity on your campuses.
Deadline for submission: April 11, 2022
We are now accepting proposals for presentations on the theme. Registration will open later this spring.

READ MORE Professional Development Awards Available for Summer InstituteThis year's Summer Institute invites women faculty in STEM to gather with colleagues at UNC Asheville, 9-11 June 2022.
As part of an NSF ADVANCE grant-funded initiative, there is funding available to provide need-based scholarships to assist with travel costs.
Applications for scholarships are accepted from now until 15 March. Recipients will be notified by 30 March.
Registration to attend the Institute opens 15 March and continues through 15 May.

READ MORE Georgia College announced as a stop for Atlanta Braves World Champions Trophy TourThe Atlanta Braves announced Thursday, March 3 additional stops of the World Champions Trophy Tour Presented by Truist. The trophy will be available for viewing on the Georgia College campus Thursday, March 24 at 3 p.m.
Stops will include the opportunity for fans to take photos with the trophy.
Additional details and activities for the Georgia College event will be announced as they are confirmed. Check back here for updates.
The tour will travel throughout Braves Country through summer 2022 with a total of 151 stops, commemorating 151 years of Braves baseball.

READ MORE REMINDER: Raising Her Voice: An Evening of Music by Women ComposersSaturday, March 5- Two of Georgia College’s choral ensembles, Women’s Ensemble and Max Noah Singers, will present an evening of music by women composers at 7:30 p.m. in Magnolia Ballroom at the Student Activity Center. The concert will also be live-streamed at facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. “Raising Her Voice” features compositions that span almost 400 years and includes pieces by well-known female composers such as Fanny Hensel and Clara Schumann. The choirs will also perform music by other lesser-known composers, such as Undine Smith Moore, the "Dean of Black Women Composers," and Rosephanye Powell, Auburn University Professor of Voice and winner of a “Living Legend Award” presented by California State University African Diaspora Sacred Music Festival in Los Angeles. READ MORE REMINDER: Digital Book Creation in Scalar: Theory & PracticeThis "show-and-tell" talk Monday, March 7 at 10 p.m. hosted by the Digital Humanities Collaborative will focus on the ways in which Scalar, the digital publishing platform, can be used to present research that is rich in multi-media content. Elliott Kuecker will review how to plan a project with attention toward collaborative labor, defined research purpose, and reasonable workflow. Further, he will perform a short demo of how the Scalar dashboard looks for authors and editors.
