WGUR partners with city to present live music festival tonight in Downtown Milledgeville

WGUR 95.3 FM, Georgia College & State University’s student-run radio station, presents a multistage music festival tonight in downtown Milledgeville.

WGUR’s student staff partnered with the City of Milledgeville’s Main Street Downtown Development Authority to organize Sounds of the South during tonight’s First Friday celebration. The festival includes 17 bands playing four stages in downtown businesses, with a headliner stage setup under the Deep Roots mural, adjacent to the Milledgeville Post Office.

GCSU students created the Sounds of the South festival to present area musicians to an audience of fellow students and local community members. This year’s festival continues the tradition of donating proceeds to a local charity. Student organizers selected the Milly Free Fridge as the beneficiary of tonight’s festival.

You can learn more about the festival and see a schedule of performances and venues on WGUR 95.3 FM’s Facebook page or follow @soundsofthesouth2023 to see the action on WGUR’s Instagram.
