Wind Symphony Concert: "Beware the Ides of March!"

Thursday, March 30 The Georgia College & State University Music Department and GCSU Bands present “Beware the Ides of March!” at 7:30 p.m. in Russell Auditorium. This concert—with its dark and brooding tones of winter and shred of light and hope for spring—utilizes all student instruments including flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinets, piccolo, saxophones, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, piano and percussion. Modeling March’s way of coming in like a lion and leaving like a lamb, the program features compositions like “Release of the Hounds” by Daniel Montoya Jr., “Watchman, Tell Us of the Night” by Mark Camphouse and “Come, Sweet Death” by Johann Sebastian Bach. This concert will also be livestreamed on the Music Department's Facebook page. A $5 donation is encouraged. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GC Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc. For more information, please email music@gcsu.edu or call 478-445-8289.
