Power Outage on GCSU Campus

A power outage has been reported in multiple buildings across the Georgia College & State University campus in downtown Milledgeville. The power outage is the result of a cell of severe thunderstorms on the morning of Sunday, March 26, 2023.

 

As of 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Georgia Power is assessing the situation and has not communicated an estimated time when service will be restored.

Georgia College will continue to monitor the forecast. If there are any changes to the ongoing situation, Public Safety will notify the campus community via GC Alert. We encourage all students to visit the GCSU Public Safety website to ensure your communication preferences are current.

 

All members of the Georgia College community are encouraged to continue monitoring local weather and news reports. We also encourage students, faculty and staff to avoid unnecessary travel Sunday morning. The safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff remain our top priority.
