Music at the Mansion

Music at the Mansion

Saturday, April 22 Join us for a celebration of spring at 6 p.m. as Georgia College & State University’s music ensembles gather on the lawn of Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion. The annual “Music at the Mansion” concert is free and open to the public. This year’s event features the university’s Wind Symphony, Women’s Ensemble, Max Noah Singers, University Chorus, Jazz Combo and Saxophone ensembles. Great songs will get you in the mood of spring like “Walking on the Green Grass” by Michael Hennagin, “Sh-Boom (Life Could Be a Dream)” by the Chords and “Mountain Roads” by David Maslanka, as well as “April is in My Mistress’ Face” and “Now Is the Month of Maying,” both by Thomas Morley. Bring snacks, drinks, tables, chairs and games for the kids. In the event of rain, the concert will be held inside the Mansion. This concert will also be livestreamed on the Music Department's Facebook page. A $5 donation is encouraged. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GC Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc. For more information, please email music@gcsu.edu or call 478-445-8289.
