Are You Ready for Orientation?

New Student Orientation

Are You Ready for Orientation?

We are so excited to see you on campus for Orientation! Before you get here, there are just a few things you need to do prior to orientation to make the most of your time on campus:

1. Submit your Bobcat Card Photo

  • Your Bobcat Card is your Student ID! It's how you get into your residence hall, swipe into the max, and buy food on campus.
  • The first step in this process is creating an account. You'll need your GCID for this! Follow this guide on how to upload your photo.
  • This must be done at least 2 days in advance of orientation so that your card will be ready for pickup when you arrive.

2. Register your Vehicle Online

  • Head to our Parking and Transportation website and click on the “Login” button at the top of the page. This will redirect you to login to Unify, but will return you to the parking page once you login.
  • Have your license plate number and vehicle info (make, model, year, and color) on hand. Note that the letter O is not an official license plate tag character in Georgia. Please use the number 0 in its place.
  • Click on the “Order Permit” icon and follow the onscreen instructions.
  • Georgia College & State University utilizes License Plate Recognition (LPR) in all campus parking lots and your vehicle’s license plate will be your university parking permit. You do not receive a physical permit.
  • You will not need a parking pass to attend Orientation; the pass referred to here will be used in the coming academic year.

3. Complete the Get Connected Survey

  • Help us learn more about you and about your areas of interest so that we can connect you to the opportunities, people, and resources that will help you make this your new home away from home.

We can't wait to see you soon! Go Bobcats!
