NEH Summer Institute Public Lecture - Farrell O'Gorman
Farrell O’Gorman, Professor of English at Belmont Abbey College: “’God and the Poor Await Us’: O’Connor, Rose Hawthorn and Dorothy Day” June 7 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall.
This year, GCSU was selected by the National Endowment for Humanities (NEH) to host a summer institute on Flannery O’Connor (“Reconsidering Flannery O’Connor). Scholars from around the nation applied and were selected to spend a month studying Flannery O’Connor in Milledgeville. In addition to doing research in the archives, the selected participants will take seminars with some of the nation’s top scholars on a range of different Flannery O’Connor-related topics. These seminar instructors will be giving a public lecture on a different topic, and these talks will be recorded by the Andalusia Institute and broadcast via Facebook live.
