On Monday, June 12 at 7:00 pm in Max Noah Recital Hall - Thomas Haddox, professor of English at the University of Tennessee: "Flannery O'Connor Againste 'Bare Life': The Violent Bear It Away and Biopolitics."

This year, GCSU was selected by the National Endowment for Humanities (NEH) to host a summer institute on Flannery O’Connor called “Reconsidering Flannery O’Connor." Scholars from around the nation applied and were selected to spend a month studying Flannery O’Connor in Milledgeville. In addition to doing research in the archives, the selected participants will take seminars with some of the nation’s top scholars on a range of different Flannery O’Connor-related topics. These seminar instructors will be giving a public lecture on a different topic, and these talks will be recorded by the Andalusia Institute and broadcast via Facebook live. For more information on the Summer Series or Reconsidering Flannery O’Connor (NEH).
