NEH Summer Institute Public Lecture - Dr. John Wharton Lowe

Wednesday, June 21 at 7:00pm in Max Noah Recital Hall - Dr. John Wharton Lowe, Barbara Methvin distinguished professor of Southern Literature at the University of Georgia: "Flannery O'Connor's Use of Humor."

This year, GCSU was selected by the National Endowment for Humanities (NEH) to host a summer institute on Flannery O’Connor called “Reconsidering Flannery O’Connor." Scholars from around the nation applied and were selected to spend a month studying Flannery O’Connor in Milledgeville. In addition to doing research in the archives, the selected participants will take seminars with some of the nation’s top scholars on a range of different Flannery O’Connor-related topics. These seminar instructors will be giving a public lecture on a different topic, and these talks will be recorded by the Andalusia Institute and broadcast via Facebook live.
