Leadership seminar and book signing featuring renown journalist and author Ryan Prior: Required attendance for GCSU nursing students

A leadership seminar featuring renown journalist and author Ryan Prior will take place Sept. 11, 2023, at 6 p.m. in the Centennial Center on Georgia College & State University's campus. All nursing students must attend, as its part of the School of Nursing Leadership designation requirements. All faculty are invited, and students are welcome to attend. 



Prior is the author of The Long Haul: Solving the Puzzle of the Pandemic's Long Haulers and How They are Changing Healthcare Forever. He will also sign books at this event.

He is a fellow/journalist-in-residence at The Century Foundation—a progressive think tank in Washington, D.C. In 2015, Prior began working at CNN, serving as a science and health features writer during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before that, he directed, produced and wrote a feature-length documentary, "Forgotten Plague," which the "Huffington Post" called a "Must-see documentary." He also wrote for "The Guardian," "The Daily Beast," "USA Today," "STAT News" and "Business Insider." 

Prior is a five-time Stanford Medicine X ePatient scholar and a member of the board of directors of the #MEAction Network. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Georgia with degrees in English and international affairs and was named to the school's 40 Under 40 list for 2018.
