Guest Artist Recital: Lindsay Leach Sparks, flute, and Joshua K. Pifer, piano

Tuesday, Sept. 19 Guest Artists Lindsay Leach Sparks, flute, and Joshua K. Pifer, piano, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Georgia College & State University’s Max Noah  Recital Hall. Faculty members at Valdosta State University, the musicians hope to depict different scenes and images through compositions they’ve chosen. Soviet composer Otar Taktakishvili wrote his “Sonata for Flute and Piano” in 1966 with repeating diatonic melodies and rhythm. Other works include American composer John Corigliano’s “Fantasia on an Ostinato” and “Danza de la Mariposa” by former Imani Winds flutist Valerie Coleman. A $5 donation is encouraged.
