Rhonda Fowler named GCSU's chief audit officer
Dear Campus Community:
I am pleased to inform you that Ms. Rhonda Fowler has joined Georgia College & State University as our new chief audit officer. Ms. Fowler has over 20 years of experience in service-oriented accounting and operations. She has a track record of successfully leading organizations through process improvement initiatives and improving institutional effectiveness.
Most recently, Ms. Fowler worked at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology since 2019. She served in a multifaceted position supporting the school’s administration, faculty and central office in broad areas related to human resources, staffing, payroll, benefits, hospitality, accounting, risk management and facilities. She has also served as the chief accounting officer for Truitt Consulting Group LLC and director of Operations for Motivation Works, Inc.
Ms. Fowler has deep expertise in financial analysis, policies and procedures, campus operations and administrative reporting.
Academically, Ms. Fowler earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in professional accountancy from Mississippi State University. I know that GCSU will benefit greatly from her knowledge and expertise.
I’d like to take this opportunity to also thank the search committee, which was chaired by Brett Montroy and included Dr. Nicholas Creel, Daphne Campbell and Shanoya Cordew.
Ms. Fowler and her husband are looking forward to becoming new residents of our area. Please join me in welcoming her to the Georgia College community!
