Drs. Rynarzewska & Mahabaduge Named Co-Directors for MURACE 2023-2024
The Office of Mentored Undergraduate Research & Creative Endeavors (MURACE) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ania Rynarzewska and Dr. Hasitha Mahabaduge will serve Faculty Co-Directors for 2023-2024.
Dr. Ania Rynarzewska, an Assistant Professor specializing in Marketing Research, and Dr. Hasitha Mahabaduge, an Associate Professor of Physics who also leads the Vertically Integrative Projects (VIP) initiative, will serve as the first ever faculty co-directors. According to Dr. Jordan Cofer, Associate Provost for Transformative Learning Experiences, “As the work of MURACE continues to expand, it made sense to bring in co-faculty directors to help support undergraduate research at GCSU.”
Together, Drs. Rynarzewska and Mahabaduge will build on the strong foundation established by the MURACE office, ensuring continued support for undergraduate research endeavors. Their responsibilities will include fostering student engagement in research activities, facilitating opportunities for student travel, overseeing Research Day events, and guiding the Summer Undergraduate Research experiences.
Furthermore, the co-directors will collaborate on broader statewide efforts through the Georgia Undergraduate Research Collective, including the organization of events such as Posters at the Capitol.
