Guest Artist Recital:  Jared Cummings, saxophone 

Monday, Oct. 16 Guest artist and saxophonist Jared Cummings will perform some of his favorite music pieces at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall. Some represent the locations he first played them. Others show the lessons he learned from them or the fun he has performing them. Compositions include a “Meditation de Thaïs” for violin by Jules Massenet and “Le temps des lilas” for voice by Ernest Chausson. “Bug” by Bruno Mantovani is meant to capture the anxiety from Y2K and the collapse of civilization, while “Esbozos Fugace” by Kenichi Ikuno Sekiguchi is an energetic piece that rises in intensity, keeping the audience at the edge of their seat. A $5 donation is encouraged. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GCSU Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc.
