Keep Milledgeville Baldwin Beautiful ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrates America Recycles Day at GCSU

Keep Milledgeville Baldwin Beautiful, community members and Georgia College & State University staff members who are on the KMBB Board celebrated America Recycles Day with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 15 on Front Campus. America Recycles Day is dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.

The new KMBB Board members representing Georgia College are Ashley Copeland, Brandy Kennedy and Lori Hamilton. 

Community members attending the event were: KMBB Board members Jeffery Wells, Jennifer Minshew and Christina Mansfield and KMBB Director Laura Thompson, Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Kara Lassiter, Ashley Gardner, Baldwin County Commissioners Henry Craig and John Westmoreland and County Manager Carlos Tober, as well as GCSU Provost Dr. Costas Spirou.

“Being a part of KMBB is an extension of GCSU’s sustainability mission statement, another means of having a presence in the greater community and important in showing commitment to a more sustainable, cleaner and healthier community,” said Lori Hamilton, chief sustainability officer at Georgia College.
