GCSU Leadership Programs to host British Consul General

GCSU Leadership Programs to host British Consul General

On Monday, Jan. 22, at 5 p.m, Georgia College & State University Leadership Programs will host Rachel Galloway, His Majesty’s Consul General to the United States. The event will mark the first in the Usery Forum on Leadership series for 2024.

Rachel Galloway assumed her post as His Majesty's Consul General in Atlanta in July 2022. Before taking on her current assignment, she served as Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Republic of North Macedonia from 2018 to 2022, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening diplomatic relations in the region. Her diplomatic journey spans various prestigious positions, including Chair of the Mashrek Maghreb Working Group at the European External Action Service and Head of the Neighborhoods Team at the UK Permanent Representation to the European Parliament in Brussels from 2012 to 2015.

“I am delighted and honored to welcome Rachel Galloway to Georgia College,” said Dr. Harold Mock, director of leadership programs. “As a professional diplomat and negotiator, Mrs. Galloway models the very best of our Usery Forum’s commitment to ‘leadership that brings people together.’”

The forum will be hosted by Georgia College Leadership Programs.

The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the Magnolia Ballroom in Milledgeville. To learn more, please visit the event webpage.

The Usery Forum on Leadership honors the legacy of U.S. Secretary of Labor W.J. Usery Jr., exploring leadership that brings people together in service to the public good. The series is supported by a generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. Melvin and Eleyce Usery.
