Special Weather Statement: Prepare for very cold temperatures!

Unusually cold temperatures will surge across the area on Tuesday evening, peaking Wednesday morning. Temperatures will drop below freezing from about 8 p.m. Tuesday until around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Students, faculty and staff should make sure to dress appropriately and allow extra time to get to and from class.

We anticipate dry surfaces overnight tonight; however, the GCSU facilities team is prepared to treat slippery surfaces on walkways and steps if cold temperatures cause sprinkler systems or other piping to break and leak. If you find a slippery location or a broken pipe/sprinkler on the campus, please immediately notify GCSU Facilities at 478-445-4279.
