Register today for Empowerment Self-defense Workshop

In Defend Yourself's interactive, participatory workshop, you'll learn practical skills to protect yourself and others such as:

  • Awareness and prevention: By learning how attacks occur, and where your risks really lie, you can better recognize when you're being targeted.
  • Verbal skills for stopping an attack or abuse before it becomes physical: Verbal skills are the strongest line of defense against someone who crosses your boundaries. Defend Yourself teaches boundary setting and assertiveness as the foundation of self-defense.
  • Physical self-defense techniques: You'll learn simple, effective strikes to use when other strategies are not an option, allowing you to stop an attach and get to safety.

Everyone can participate - no matter how out of shape you are, or what physical limitations you have, you can do things to protect yourself.

Students can register for one of two workshops (Friday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.) at: https://bit.ly/DefendYourself223 Register soon, as spots are limited (30 spots per session).
