Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy senior wins award at PittCon 2024
Tyler Walters, a senior student set to graduate this May, was recently honored with the prestigious James Manner Award during Pittcon 2024 for his research project titled "Alternative Synthesis of the Pesticide Carbaryl." This accolade was bestowed upon the top three poster presentations, meticulously evaluated based on the poster's content, the eloquence of the presentation, adeptness in addressing queries and the distinctiveness of the research.
With aspirations to pursue a career in medicine and become a physician, Walters currently works with Associate Professor of Chemistry Dr. Ronald Okoth. PittCon is an annual conference where chemists, particularly analytical chemists, convene to share their research findings.
