Tommie Miller retires after 30 years of service to GCSU

After 30 years of service to Georgia College & State University, Interim Grounds Supervisor Tommie Miller worked his last day July 30, 2024.

He preferred to not have a public gathering. However, he enjoys getting emails or texts.

You can send a text or an email to wish him well, as he's on his way toward spending happy, relaxing times with his family and grandkids.

If you'd like to send an email to Tommie, please email susan.daniels@gcsu.edu, who will forward your message to him. You can also text Tommie at 478-363-0680.

"Everyone in town honks their horn, waves and knows Tommie Miller. He’s the friendliest guy in town," said Susan Daniels, director of Landscaping and Grounds at Georgia College. "Tommie has been the backbone of Georgia College's Grounds Department since 1994. He's connected to the university and has shaped this campus through his personal values. Every day, he was the most valuable, hardworking, dedicated and enjoyable person to work with. Tommie was steadfast, honest and fun with a willingness to make this campus the best it could be. There’s always someone who stands out and leads the way, and Tommie was a leader while setting the tone for staff to follow. GCSU all the way."
