Dr. Jeannie Pridmore selected for USG Executive Leadership Institute

The University System of Georgia selected Chair of Information Systems and Computer Science Dr. Jeannie Pridmore to participate in their yearlong Executive Leadership Institute.

The professional development program enhances scholar leadership skills and prepares participants for administrative roles through group learning, mentorship and more.

“It is an honor for a department chair from the Bunting College of Business & Technology to have been selected to participate in this year’s Executive Leadership Institute,” said Interim Dean Dr. Tanya Goette. “Jeannie is in her second year and has already demonstrated exceptional leadership by driving innovation in our curriculum and fostering strong industry partnerships.”

The program also offers job shadowing of senior executives across different institutions of higher learning, facilitating exploration of many layers of operation.

“My primary goal is to develop and grow as a leader by focusing on self-awareness, emotional intelligence and gaining insights into leadership within higher education,” Pridmore said. “I am especially excited for the mentorship and personal reflection opportunities. I hope participating in the ELI will equip me with the tools to become a more effective leader for my faculty and students, and to become as valuable as I can be for Georgia College & State University.”

“I have always worked in very male dominated fields, and at times questioned if I would have advancement opportunities,” she said. “For me, this means recognition of years of hard work, recognition of my passion to be the best leader I can be for my faculty and students, and I am thankful for the opportunity to gain leadership skills needed to excel at GCSU.”
