Opioid Use Disorder with Narcan training and Stop the Bleed training

Dr. Catherine Fowler has arranged for students to receive both Narcan and Stop the Bleed training. Narcan use training will be conducted for 90 second semester undergraduate nursing students by Marie Puckett, administrative manager for Wellness and Recreation. Stop the Bleed training for the nursing cohort will be conducted by Sgt. Paul Bernichon, Georgia College & State University Public Safety and Kristal Smith, Region 5 coordinator.

Puckett is assisting and helped secure the needed Stop the Bleed kits. Students and faculty have the opportunity to become Stop the Bleed instructors, as well. Dr. Joyce Norris Taylor's community students will participate, in addition to Fowler's students. Dr. Amelia Malcom, nursing, is the Stop the Bleed liaison for the nursing program.
